The cabins Baboon, Hungry Packer, Loch Leven, and Moonlight are available to book starting December 1 – December 18. Pick from three weekends for your Hallmark stay in Cardinal’s Christmas Village.
Staying at Cardinal Village Resort during the Christmas season looks a little different than the normal season. There are only 4 cabins that we rent during the “off-season”, so your stay is sure to be quieter than the summer time. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, we will have the General Store and Cardinal Cafe open from 10am – 4pm for your convenience. The Cafe will have Holiday sweets and treats available for sale, not our typical seasonal menu you might be used to. We also host the Cardinal Village Christmas Festival on the weekends.
We expect a lot of visitors around the property on the weekend (including Santa and his elves). From Monday to Thursday the store and cafe will NOT be open. Many staff do live onsite during the winter, so if you need assistance with something in your cabin, we will be easy to find.
You will have to get any groceries or goodies you need between Monday and Thursday from the town of Bishop (15 miles down the hill). If snow occurs during your stay, there is no need to worry about road conditions (although we wouldn’t recommend a Prius for transport).
The state plows Highway 168 all the way up until the closed gate leading to Sabrina Lake (about 1/4 of a mile past the Cardinal Village Resort turn-off), and the county plows Cardinal Rd. all the way to the entrance of the resort.
